Cathy and Dan | Engagement Photos | Couples Portraits

Special double feature! Two sessions summed up into one posting ¬†ūüėČ

Cathy and Dan found me through my music photography, and once we met to chat about the plan for their engagement photos and wedding photography, we instantly clicked on style and vibe for the photo sessions we started planning. This couple is laid back, super chill and all in all great people to work with. We met up for two wonderful engagement portrait sessions, one at the Legion of Honor near Lands End, and the other a few months later for a evening/dusk session on Treasure Island, right in the middle of the San Francisco Bay.

All in all Cathy and Dan were a joy to photograph. We had a lot of fun exploring each of the places we traveled to, and had a lot of adventures to reminisce about when I photographed their wedding for them at the Great American Music Hall earlier this year – more to come on that in a future post ūüėČ

Instagram :: January 2012

Hikes in Harriman and Bear Mountain State Parks in New York, more wine country trips, getting back into shooting more film, Yale University libraries and full moons kept me happy. Discovered a few more iPhone apps, notably Squareready (so you can square border your rectangular images to post without cropping in IG), Camera Plus Pro (iTunes link), where you can shoot using live filters for both stills and video. The B&W videos through CP Pro come out pretty awesome. While annoyingly slow to use, ShakeItPhoto (iTunes link) is a really cool way to get Polaroid type images from your iPhone.

For data and infographic minded folks, Photo Stats (iTunes Store link) is a really cool way to see all of the stats about the photos you make using your iPhone.  At last check before downloading and backing up all of my iPhone images, I learned I had 22356 MB of photos on my phone (taking up 86% of the phone storage), 67% of my photos were in landscape format, I generally make my images in the morning and late afternoon, the average shutter speed is 0.041 seconds and 0% of my images used the internal flash.

Happy iPhoning!

Instagram :: November 2011

Mural painters, a trip to New York City, some good coffee, a broken car window, Disneyland and a double rainbow. All that and more in the month of November…

Instagram :: September 2011

I feel like it was kind of a weak month for Instagramming for me… :/ Somehow I only snapped and posted 6 images in September. Eeeks! I’ll have to pick it up!

On a happy little side note, I purchased a few old school vintage film cameras and I’m excited to get closer to my roots again. Hoping to have some scans to post sometime later this year. Happy Instagramming!
