Schwind Family Portraits | Crissy Field | Presidio of San Francisco | San Francisco Family Photography

I’m excited to share some of the beautiful photographs from a classic foggy San Francisco morning with the Schwind Family! As they were soon departing to move to Vienna, Austria, this was an exceptionally special day for them. The goal was to photograph in a traditional & special San Francisco place, and Crissy Field and Fort Point fit the bill exceptionally well.

Though one of the main goals when planning this session with the Schwind’s was to capture the Golden Gate Bridge with the family, SF had its way with us and all but obscured the International Orange statesman until later that day. Either way, the Schwind’s were oh so happy with their classic foggy San Francisco family images, and I look forward to seeing photographs of their huge collage wall we custom designed for them hanging in their new home once they settle into their new home in Vienna.

Instagram :: June 2012

Expression of daily life with Instagram and iPhoneography is a never ending adventure.  I’m happy to post the monthly update for June 2012.

Wine, camping, telescopes, palaces, concerts, the Golden Gate Bridge, rusty snails and nasty hospital food all caught my attention this past month…

Editorial Portraits of Emre for Ingenjören Magazine

Portraits of Emre for Ingenjören Magazine, a publication for the national Swedish Engineers association. Emre is a computer programmer completing his MSc in data while working as a graduate student at the SF Bay Area tech firm Splunk. We met up in the morning and headed down to the Fort Point area of SF for a few shots in a classic San Francisco setting. The rain had just begun clearing from the night before, leaving us with a beautiful big softbox of a mostly overcast day, my favorite weather to photograph under 🙂

A Foggy Evening at Fort Point and the Golden Gate Bridge | HDR Images

On a lonely foggy eve, I stumbled into Fort Point National Historic Site and the archway truss of the Golden Gate Bridge. From Fort Point you get an original view of the Golden Gate Bridge and the San Francisco Bay. It’s pretty unreal down there, and very easy to get to. I wish the building at the point was open, and it’d be cool to wander closer to the bridge, but it’s gated off pretty well (the first shot here is actually taken with the camera lens poking through the hole in the fence). I’ve seen some photogs get deeper access and I only wonder what their secrets are…

I definitely plan to go back and venture through the area beneath the bridge and the roadways there a bit more. It’s a cool industrial urban lattice of somewhat creepy proportion begging to be explored!
