KYRO, Kaitlin McGaw, Whitney Nichole, and Liz Ryder at Red Devil Lounge

When you think Red Devil Lounge, you probably think of loud up and coming rock groups blaring strong chords and screaming voices out of the place. A change of pace for us at RDL, this night was set to include all female singer-songwriter fronted groups in a much more laid back tables and chairs atmosphere. We got treated to the musical wares of KYRO, fronted by Lindy Lafontaine, as well as performances by Kaitlin McGaw, Whitney Nichole and Liz Ryder.

Beautiful sets ladies. A great laid back night in the lounge. You all tell great stories through your tunes.

SF Station and Examiner.com

Exciting times at NDP!

Recently found out that Examiner.com accepted my application to be an SF Concert Photography Examiner, and I applied and was offered a 3-month concert and event photography internship with SF Station!!

We’re never going to be sleeping over here, but proud of this amazing news landing within the same week!

My photos for SF Station will be posted here: http://photos.sfstation.com/

And you can catch up with me on Examiner.com here: http://www.examiner.com/concert-photography-in-san-francisco/niall-david

By this time next year both of these will be PACKED with images and articles by NDP on the SF concert scene, possibly including YOUR show! If you have an idea for an upcoming concert in San Francisco you’d like me to cover, please send me a note with the who, what, where and why of it all; rock on San Francisco!

Thanks for all of your continued support. I’m looking forward to capturing more of SF’s concert scene!

1000 Tweets

I have made 1000 of something I thought I’d never do – tweet. Yep, it still sounds as lame as it did a couple of years ago when the phenomenon began. There was Twitter, right alongside the uprising of Facebook and the seemingly dismal crumble of MySpace (except for its music promotion value and public weirdness which are giving craigslist a run for its money …). Anywho, it’s been an interesting few years with it and those little 140 character messages.

Biss List Silver Ball Holiday Party – The New Up, bernadette, Crackerjack Highway, M80 Mailbox and DJ Jack Frost at The Independent

Biss Entertainment lights up The Independent and starts December right with the Silver Ball Holiday Party! Gleaming performances by The New Up, bernadette, Crackerjack Highway, M80 Mailbox (featuring Dave Brogan of ALO and Josh Clark of Tea Leaf Green), plus DJ Jack Frost spinning between sets.

Crackerjack Highway started the night off and got us all in the mood to party. The New Up showcased the music and stage presence which got them titled a Best Bay Area Breakout Band by MTV2. Bernadette reminded us why she shares the main stages around San Francisco with some of the areas most talented musicians. And to close out the event, M80 Mailbox rocked the house – the likes of bands we haven’t seen since Nirvana.

Great early holiday time was had by all. Pamela Gerstein and all of the organizers at Biss deserve a huge round of applause for organizing such a successful event, which donated a portion of proceeds to the Blue Bear School of Music – helping them continue their 39 years of music education!

Special thanks to *bernadette* for inviting me to photograph the evening 🙂
